TESTIMONIALS

June 2004

Our son, Curtis Warren, began taking classical guitar lessons at Soundboard Studio when he was ten. We cannot begin to express the impact and influence that Mr. Sharpe has had on Curtis. Mr. Sharpe is the quintessential teacher. To him every moment is a 'teaching moment' whether it is in the studio or flying across the country together. The lessons do not stop with how to read and play music. Yes, Mr. Sharpe is an outstanding music instructor. The success of his many students is a testament to that (entrances to the NC School of the Arts,  multiple talent show winners, music scholarships awarded, and even a student who has also begun to teach classical guitar, to name a few of the success stories).  Excellence is expected at Soundboard Studio, but it is not the goal- merely a means to achieving 'the goal'. Mr. Sharpe applauds his students at each level of their growth. He is equally proud of the three year old who plays one note as he is of the older student who is winning awards. The individual ability of a student is taken into account but never used as an excuse to achieve less. My Sharpe is more concerned with character development ('the goal') than any other accomplishment. His interest in the children goes far beyond their performance piece. He teaches tougher lessons, like how to handle the disappointments and failures which come to everyone. He teaches the children to respect and care for each other, to do their best, to persevere, and when all else fails to smile and persevere some more. We are deeply saddened that our upcoming move will not allow our son to continue studying under Mr. Sharpe. We will always be grateful for the lessons that he has learned which we know will serve him well his entire life.

Our 3 year old son, Cedric joined Soundboard Studios under the direction of Mr. Ron Sharpe for classical guitar lessons. Cedric's musical ability has undergone a wonderful transformation. He enjoys playing the guitar, and looks forward to his private and group lessons. He has gained better concentration skills, math skills and has developed the ability to follow detailed instructions.

Mr. Sharpe is very professional in all his activity associated with his students. He strives for the highest quality of learning and uses many resources to increase the student's musical talents. He always praises his students, and used constructive criticism when needed. He is one of the most dedicated, patient and committed instructors that we know.

The exposure our son has had with Mr. Sharpe will have a positive influence on him for the rest of his life. Soundboard Studios is a place we are very proud to be a part of.
